Juliana Cepeda, fundadora y gestora : “La historia de Casa Kilele realmente viene de yo vivi en Australia en Melbourne me fui hacer una maestría en gestión cultural y artística. […] Y decidí volver a Colombia […] y pues vino la idea de alquilar una casa i vivir ahí mientras producía pequeños eventos.” / Juliana Cepeda, founder and manager : “Casa Kilele story started with me going in Australia, Melbourne, to study cultural and artistic events management. […] And I decided to come back in Colombia […] and then came the idea to rent a house and live there meanwhile I was producing small events.”
“La casa tiene 3 espacios, en el primer espacio esta la sala principal […] salón de conciertos, el kiosco, el jardín, las paredes [como] espacio de galería; en el secundo piso tenemos dos cuartos de hospedaje, una sala de cine y oficinas; y en el tercer piso tenemos el salón grande, y tenemos una grande terraza mirando al gran cementerio y al centro de Bogotá.” / “The house has 3 floors, first floor we have the main room […] salon for concerts, the bar, the garden, the walls used as art gallery; on the second floor we have two rooms on rental, a home-cinema room, and offices; on the third level we have the big room and the great terrace starring at the huge graveyard and Bogotá’s city-center.”
“Casa Kilele inicio en agosto/setiembre del 2014. El proceso fue muy orgánico como vivíamos en la casa y yo gestionaba […] La historia se ha sido muy colectiva digamos. Augusto Castillo, que es mi pareja, al igual que Hencho, Sasha, ellos le dieron vida a mi idea y eso fue una base muy importante para el proyecto.” / “Casa Kilele started August/September 2014. The process was really natural as we lived in the house and me managing events […] The journey has been very collective though. Augusto Castillo, my boyfriend, as well as Hencho, Sasha… they gave birth to my idea and this was a very important basis for the project.”
“Tenemos tres espacios que alquilamos a tres proyectos. Un proyecto es de ventas de discos de los ochenta y hacen tatuajes también, otro proyecto es Dokan, ellos hacen diseños d’experiencias […] y tenemos un científico-tecnólogo-artista que tiene su taller.” / “We have three spaces rented for three projects. One project is about selling records from the 80s paired to a tattoo shop, the other one is Dokan, they create special live events […] and there is a scientific-technologist-artist that has his studio here.”
“[…] los dos primeros años fueron años de mucho empuje, mucha constancia, de querer renunciar […] ahí tuvimos que aprender a las malas como funcionan los sistemas acá […] Pero lo lindo de la historia es que Casa Kilele como autentica y innovadora pues logro captar un publico que todavía nos sigue y cada vez es mas grande. Y pues aquí estamos, emancipados!” / “[…] the first two years were years of lots of impulses, perseverance, wanting to give up […] and we have had to learn the hard way how the systems are working here […] But what is making this story cool is that Casa Kilele being authentic and innovative at the end succeeded in attracting its public that still follows us and each time expands. And at the end we are here, emancipated!
